FUE hair transplant is a hair regeneration technique that produces natural results which involves transferring live hair roots harvested from the hairy back of the head to bald areas.
Unlike the outdated FUT technique, FUE does not involve the use of a scalpel or stitches. This means that there would be no visible scar in the donor region at the back of the head. This approach offers hair to people without interfering with their everyday lives.
In this article, Dr. Manas Jain will share a few instructions that one should follow for better result & to avoid complications. He will also share the cost of hair transplant in Mysore as the cost is comparatively less in
Mysore due to the easy availability of necessary materials & experienced surgeons.
Before & After FUE Hair Transplantation Instructions
There are a few guidelines to follow in the days before and after your FUE hair transplant. The following is a list of guidelines and things to bear in mind while you prepare your intervention:
Before The Operation:
One week before the procedure, avoid taking aspirin-containing drugs because they raise the risk of bleeding.
At least one week before your treatment, quit smoking and all nicotine-containing items, such as electronic cigarettes. Nicotine constricts blood vessels, preventing oxygen-rich blood from reaching transplanted areas.
Alcohol intake should be avoided before the operation because it increases the risk of bleeding.
If you normally dye your hair to cover grey hair, wait at least three days before your appointment to do so.
Please inform the surgeon if you are taking any blood thinners (such as Plavix, Coumadin, or Heparin). Since it increases bleeding and can be a contraindication to your hair transplant operation.
After the Operation
Apply an ice pack to your forehead for 15 minutes per hour to reduce swelling. Apply it 3 centimetres away from your hairline and not directly on the grafts.
Grafts are likely to fall out in the first few weeks after the operation, which is a common occurrence. You can also experience “shock loss” around the donor region in extreme cases. After the treatment, this hair, along with the transplanted hair, will develop in 4 to 6 months.
Scabs can appear in the transplanted areas within the first two weeks. Make sure you don’t use your nails to remove or rub off the scabs. Scabs are normally removed by washing the head as directed and massaging it gently in circular motions.
Activity:
Do not engage in any strenuous activities for two weeks after the operation. Swelling, bleeding, and graft failure may all result from too much operation.
To pick up items or tie shoes, bend at the knees rather than the hips. Sexual activity should be avoided for one week after the operation because it will cause swelling.
Medications:
Your doctor will prescribe an antibiotic, which you should take as instructed.
For post-operative discomfort, a pain reliever will be given, to be taken as directed by the doctor.
You will be given additional hair care items to help speed up the healing process.
Other Instructions:
Rubing or removing hair from that region is not a good idea. This does not preclude bathing the day after the procedure. However, stop firmly rinsing the water on the inserted grafts while doing so.
Since grafts are still in the process of stabilizing, they require extra caution. This does not only apply to the transplanted area, but also to the donor area (from which the hair is extracted).
For at least a week to ten days after surgery, stop smoking, including E-cigarettes and hookah.
Keep in mind that a well-balanced and nutritious diet leads to healthier and stronger hair. As a result, it is recommended that you include vitamin-rich fruits and vegetables in your diet.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a scar on the donor region at the back of the head after a FUE hair transplant?
No, it’s not true. One of the most appealing features of the FUE technique is that it leaves no noticeable scars.
Is a FUE hair transplant permanent?
